Annika's Art Process

In Art 322, I've learned about my artistic process. I create art through a philosophical lens of questioning life and art concepts.

My process includes inviting others to be a part of my process for multiple perspectives to enhance my art and knowledge.

Since art is inspired and influenced by outside perspectives I take advantage of using other's perspectives on my journey to the final artwork.

An art piece that changes the world engages an audience through curiosity.

Asking questions can change the world.

How I've Grown

My perspective has changed how I see art's purpose. I believe art should be left open ended to create an interaction between the artist with a viewer. Art begins a collaboration between the viewer and the artist, where both parties engage their artist voice when exploring an art piece. The artist creates the art with their artist voice while the viewer interprets the art with their artist voice. Art is an invitation from an artist to a viewer to experience vulnerability, emotion, and personal interpretation. Self-expression allows for an artist to be heard without being seen, which instills a connection to a soul rather than a body.

Art 322 has helped me create my 'artist process' and understand its importance. I've learned that my 'artist process' is fuelled by curiosity and inviting others to be a part of my process in order to enhance my art and the meaning behind it. I invited other's to be a part of my work by asking questions, researching other artists, and taking action on feedback. When I invited others to be a part of my work, I felt surrounded by a community of creativity and vulnerability, which encouraged my learning to engage with my self-expression. I learned that making mistakes in the 'artist process' is crucial for the best final artwork because challenge fuels curiosity.
